Who Am I Anyway?

My name is Ron Pfiester and I live in Carrollton, TX which is about 20 miles north of Dallas. I've been a serious paper money enthusiast since 1993 and have collected on and off since I was 8. My main interests are US, but I don't have what I would consider a specialty. Most of my collection seems to be made up of large and small size Silver Certificates.

I also collect German notes from the late 19th and 20th centuries because of my wife's and my German family ties. I've probably found more enjoyment building my German collection than I've had with my US collection. Where else can you collect beautiful old notes for 50 cents a piece. Once you get to a certain point in your collection, it's difficult to locate those few notes you need. I can't believe the hours I've spent searching through dealer junk boxes, but it does make it twice as rewarding when you do find one you're looking for. After all, I'm convinced it's the "hunt" that draws most of us to the hobby.

My recent interests have been towards Stocks and Bonds from the US and Germany. This hobby is not very established here in the US and it's difficult to locate information and others with similar interests. Scripophily is much more popular in Europe although I've seen a tremendous amount of growth here, recently. I believe that scripophily is still in it's infancy in the US and has great potential and prices are still quite resonable.

I'm an Advisory Systems Engineer by trade specializing in Unix Computer Systems Architecture. I have been on the internet since 1992 and developed this website in 1996 mostly for my own enjoyment, but also to spread my enthusiasm for the hobby and to share these beautiful images and information. I do this purely for enjoyment and relaxation and couldn't possibly tell you how many hours I've spent on this website.

As a result of the exposure this website offers me as well as attending every local show and a few of the major shows, I have the opportunity to purchase, sell and broker notes to and from the contacts I've made. If you have a particular note you're looking for, please let me know and I will attempt to locate one for you.

If you're looking to sell you're notes, please allow me to make an offer. I buy and sell notes to subsidize my collection so I can usually offer more than a dealer would.

I will occasionally list items for sale on the eBay online auction. You can view feedback from some of the people I've dealt with by clicking below.
